چکیده
Abstract Lightweight concrete (LWC) is one of the most important building materials nowadays. Many research studies were focused on LWC produced using lightweight aggregates. However, limited work was cited for polystyrene beads. In this study, beams strengthened with carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) and glass (GFRP) experimentally tested to investigate improvement in their flexural shear behaviours. investigation achieved by partial replacement normal aggregate beads resulted approximately 30% less weight compared Normal concrete. Fourteen Reinforced Concrete (RC) 100 mm 300 cross section having an overall length 3250 under four-point bending. These designed, detailed, obtain mode failure. divided into two groups based intended failure mode. each group, six CFRP GFRP laminates, while remaining beam used as control. The parameters type FRP, width laminates strengthening, number layers strengthening. It found that strengthening increasing loading capacity decreasing deflection also suitable reducing crack propagation which more significant beams. experimental results expressions codes forecasting strength it these are compatible results.

Effect of Adhesive Viscoelasticity on the Creep Behaviour of FRP Strengthened Concrete Beams
This paper focuses on the effect of the viscoelasticity of the adhesive layer on the flexural creep response of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with composite materials. A theoretical model is developed, which considers the strengthened beam as a layered structure that consists of the reinforced concrete beam, the adhesive layer, and the FRP strip, and accounts for the creep of each comp...
متن کاملBehaviour of FRP strengthened concrete columns under eccentric compression loading
This paper presents results of testing eccentrically loaded columns externally wrapped with two types of materials. Six cylindrical (205 mm diameter and 925 mm height) plain columns were cast and tested. Half of the columns were wrapped with GFRP and the other half with CFRP. All columns were tested by applying an axial load at 50 mm eccentricity. In each group (GFRP or CFRP wrapped) of columns...
متن کاملStructural behaviour of RC beams externally strengthened with FRP sheets under fatigue and monotonic loading
This paper presents experimental research on the fatigue and post-fatigue static behaviour of reinforced concrete beams strengthened with glass or carbon fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets placed either vertically or obliquely. All beams for fatigue tests were subjected to four-point bending for one million cycles with a frequency of 5 Hz. The results show that the FRP sheets can be used to ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Concrete Bridge Girders Strengthened with Frp Laminates under Service and Extreme Loading Conditions
The project is a continuation from fiscal year 2004-2005. Previous work aimed at developing new analytical tools for analysis of RC beams strengthened with FRP laminates. The models were used to analyze several test specimens of RC beams and to investigate the corresponding failure mode, and whether it is due to CFRP fracture, debonding, or concrete crushing. Current work focused on using the e...
متن کاملField Assessment of Urm Walls Strengthened with Frp Laminates
Unreinforced masonry (URM) walls strengthened with composites were tested to failure at a decommissioned building in St. Louis, Missouri. The walls were subjected to out-of-plane loading. Previous work on URM as well as reinforced masonry walls strengthened with FRP laminates has shown remarkable increases in capacity and ductility. However, most of this research work has been conducted in the ...
